MAHAMRI RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

4 Cups Wheat Flour

A quarter or 1/2 Cup Sugar

1 tsp. Cardamon powder

1 tsp. Instant yeast

1 ½ c.Milk or water or coconut milk

¼ c. Melted butter or oil 1 Egg (optional)

Oil for deep frying

 

METHOD

Sift the flour in a mixing bowl.

Add sugar and cardamon.

Heat up the butter to hot but do not boil,make a well in the flour and pour the hot butter.

Carefully rub in the flour until well blended.

Add the yeast,warm milk and egg and mix to form a soft sticky dough.

Place on a lightly floured board and knead for atleast 5 mins until the dough is soft and pliable.

Form into balls (the size between an apple and an orange) roll into about ¼ inch thickness, cut into any desired shape.

Place on lightly floured trays and leave to rise for about ½-1 hour.

Heat up deep oil in a deep pan until medium hot. F

ry the mamris until golden brown on both sides. Drain on soft paper and serve them hot or cold.
